Collaborations

We are passionate about collaborating with other mission-focused, like-minded organizations and business entities who are working to provide services for a variety of populations. Educational Partnerships

Due to the schedule of our clinical programs, we no longer offer traditional “field trips” for local schools. However, we do offer Educational Partnership opportunities for elementary, middle, and high schools every school calendar year. Through these partnerships, school groups/classes are able to schedule visits once per month (or less if desired), during the school year. At each visit, we work with the schools to develop outdoor education and animal interaction experiences, as well as service projects appropriate to the age of the group. Examples of schools we currently work with are: Oakwood IB (Statesville), Davidson Green School (Davidson), Community School of Davidson, Woodlawn (Davidson), Central Elementary (Statesville), and many others!

Additionally, we offer a variety of ways to further support students, faculty, and parent communities. Click here to download a PDF that outlines more information about our Educational Parternships.

Bushel Barns Horsemanship

Bushel Barns Boarding and Horsemanship—founded and led by trainer Laura Hebard—specializes in human training and horse rehabilitation. Services offered include:

  • Improving rider and/or horse confidence

  • Troubleshooting for situations such as trailer loading, bucking, rearing, crowding, spooking, etc.

  • Horsemanship lessons that focus on horse behavior, building a foundation from the ground up, and riding with relaxation

  • Starting or restarting horses under saddle

During training and lessons, horse and human safety are prioritized and the focus is the relationship between horse and human. Bushel Barns strongly believes in working with horses in a way that makes sense to them, so they become safe and willing partners, and so we become better humans for them.

Equuvation partners with Laura Hebard and Bushel Barns to offer horse-focused benefit obstacle clinics, monthly lesson opportunities, and mindful equine-assisted learning (EAL) opportunities for organizations in the Winston-Salem area.

Red Feather Equine Sanctuary

Red Feather’s mission is to provide rehabilitation and lifelong sanctuary for horses that are unwanted, or have been abandoned, neglected, or abused. With an emphasis on equine welfare, they aim to inspire the community to embrace the cause of compassion and forge meaningful human-horse connections.

Red Feather believes that every horse—regardless of their past or their ability—deserves a place where healing is nurtured, and their innate grace and spirit are celebrated. Their organization is dedicated to rescuing equine souls in distress, offering them a sanctuary where they can rediscover trust, companionship, and the joys of a peaceful existence.

Through their work, Red Feather aspires to cultivate a community that is not only aware of the challenges faced by abandoned, mistreated and unrideable horses but is also actively engaged in addressing these issues. They aim to inspire the public to become advocates for equine welfare, encouraging them to take up the cause and build their own profound connections with these healing beings.

Red Feather’s commitment extends beyond rescue and rehabilitation—they strive to be a beacon of education, promoting a deeper understanding of the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of horses. By fostering empathy and knowledge, they empower individuals to become ambassadors for equine welfare, working towards a world where every horse is treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Through advocacy, rehabilitation, and community engagement, Red Feather seeks to create a compassionate society where the welfare of horses is championed by all. In partnership with Red Feather, Equuvation aims to help them build a future where abandoned, neglected, abused and unrideable horses find solace, and where human-horse connections flourish, creating a tapestry of empathy, understanding, and shared companionship. We work together on several collaborative programs, events, and advocacy initiatives each year.

Carmen’s Cause

Carmen’s Cause was developed to connect victims and survivors of abuse, assault, stalking, and domestic violence with the resources they need. Additionally, through the use of a discreet QR code, law enforcement officers who respond to DV calls are able to streamline paperwork, deliver important information to victims quickly, and consolidate data into one location. Founded by an active duty Police Detective dedicated to DV and homicide victims, Carmen’s Cause was named after her beloved horse—Carmen—who walked alongside the founder through times of trauma ultimately offering her the ability to recover and heal. In partnership with Equuvation, Carmen’s Cause offers annual Resilience Retreats—free and confidential wellness retreats for victims and survivors of abuse, assault, stalking, and domestic violence.

Paddock Blade

Paddock Blade® was first invented in a small farmyard workshop just outside Worcester in the United Kingdom in 2016. It was originally made for a horse owner who was tired of cleaning paddocks by hand, enduring the weather and insect bites, and suffering from repetitive strain injuries in their hands, legs, back, and shoulders. After earning it's stripes in the UK and Australia, Paddock Blade® the world's favorite tow behind horse paddock cleaner has finally arrived in the USA! Equuvation is thrilled to have a Paddock Blade and partner with this company—who has values that align with our own—and who gives us the tools to better care for our property and improve the overall health and wellness of our horses.
